What is Living Torah?

The phrase “living torah” refers to several things. It can refer to simply living out the lifestyle of the Torah (the commandments of God found in the first five books of the Bible).

It can also refer to the Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth. The Apostle John said that the Word became flesh (John 1:14). The Torah is the Word of God. It’s not a stretch to say that Yeshua the Messiah is the Torah incarnate. The Messiah perfectly obeyed all of the commandments that applied to Him. He was the perfect and unblemished sacrifice.

As disciples of Yeshua, we are to be like Him. This means that we must live out the Torah. As we obey Torah, we are letting the Messiah live through us! Thus, “living torah” refers to both obeying the Torah and being a disciple of the living Torah, the Messiah Yeshua.
